2. Meatballs looks really cute, I can't wait to see it!
3. The Road doesn't look like the book. I think they may have added more action so that it was more interesting. We'll see. Maybe I should re-read the book.
4. Cirque du Freak looks REALLY AWESOME! I think I might start reading this one.
5. New Moon looks dumb and inaccurate. Honestly, I hate K. Stewart.
6. Mr. Fox looks GREAT! Love the voice cast and the animation is very fun!
7. Lovely Bones looks really good, but I'm hesitant to start reading it.
8. YAY! Robert Downing Jr. and Jude Law (Jude is sooo hot! As Waston! As anything!) I'm excited.
9. CAN'T WAIT FOR ALICE IN WONDERLAND! Fabulous! Awesome! As usual, Burton out does himself.

But may I add one? The Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson and the Olympians! ANOTHER I CAN'T WAIT FOR!

Heh, I have pretty much the same reactions you do! :)

I hadn't heard of the Lightening Thief movie, thanks! Looks good.

the books
I work in a k-8 library and almost bought some Cirque de Freak, vampire books for it. But I held off until I can read some because we have a few in the office that like to look through the books as they come in, and they actually nixed a couple of the books I orders (the happy bunny books by Jim Benson-completely satire).

I really, really want to see the new Sherlock Holmes (robert downey jr. yummy- and close to my age, so I don't have to feel creepy-like the older woman who are crushing on edward/twilight - ewwww).

It'll be interesting what versions "they" do of all the childrens books. Where the Wild Things are was pretty short, and had no parents pictured at all - so obviously they are just taking the idea and running with it, running pretty far...

Re: the books
What, they nixed books? Sheesh. :\

Yes, I'm DYING to see the Sherlock Holmes!!!! :) I don't understand the Edward/Twilight thing either.

I know, it looks AWESOME. I wish they'd give us a date in 2010.. Le sigh. There's also these pictures: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=56475

I'm excited about several of the movies mentioned on the list, but also for The Vintner's Luck (based on the book by Elizabeth Knox) and Under The Mountain (book by Maurice Gee). Lots of book-to-movie adaptations coming out at the moment. Hope they do the originals justice.
